Walmart should take these products off the shelf. I tried to buy Martha White and couldn’t check out they said it had been recalled then I went back and got White Lilly they said the same thing. Would have saved me a lot time if it they would have taken it off the shelf…

I have tried to buy Martha white cornmeal (buttermilk) kind from Wal-Mart on airport Rd in Asheville, NC 3 times now. Each time they tell me they can not sale it to me, but yet it remains on their counter…what is the problem? If the product is not safe to sale, then SOMEONE needs to make them take their product off the counter….if the issue has been resolved, then they need to fix it to where people can buy the product that they want….I went to Ingles in mills River, NC and was able to buy it…the only thing is I paid more..

  3. I went to Walmart in Harvey Louisiana to grocery shop, and picked up a five pound bag of Martha White self rising corn meal, so I would be able to make dressing for Thanksgiving dinner, when I went to check out they told me it had been recalled. why was it still on the shelve ?I read on the internet that it had high levels of aflatoxin producd by certain species of fungi. they are toxic among the most carcinogenic substances know.I saw on the list were Jim dandy grits, White lily flour. It is getting to be a terrible experience just doing your grocery shopping anymore. We never know if we are buying a safe product or not. What has happened to this country?

Just left Wal-Mart on Academy Drive in Bessemer…..all recalled products have been pulled from the shelves. Is there any corn meal out there now that is safe to use?

  5. At the Wal Mart in Gainesville, Ga., my 85 year old mom had a 5 lb. bag of the White Lily Buttermilk Cornmeal and the cashier told her it had been recalled and she wasn’t allowed to sell it to her. Why then was it on the shelf in the first place???? It should have been removed from the shelves!!

Are there ANY SAFE corn meals that can be purchased and the same thing about grits is it just the Jim Dandy brand or is there more brands that are affected, I just bought a bag of Quaker Instant Grits from Wal-Mart and now I’m scared to let my family eat them. How do I find out if they are safe to eat?

    • Several stores in Florence still has the MW corn meal on there shelves but they should have taken it off like Walmart. Walmart had one kind of MW on there shelves but the UPC code was one that has been recalled.

I have been trying to find Martha White corn meal for over a week. I had a bag of it at Walmart but the checker picked it up, it had a hole in the bag. There was not another bag of it on the shelf. When she went to the storage room, they told her that the bag should not have been out on the shelf. She said that it was recalled.Today I found this site.
Since I have been using Martha White flour and meal all of my life, I don’t want to change now. I am 73 years old and too old for that.
When will the meal be back on the shelf?

  11. I’ve used Martha White Meal for years, but I’m going to have to buy 5 lbs of Aunt Jemima Buttermilk. Don’t buy any with a UPC (Bar Code) with 030000-05583 and 030000-05589. The AJ Buttermilk meal I saw at Walmart this morning didn’t have these codes so I assume it is o.k. All of MW has the codes that have been recalled.

I asked about the 5 lb White Lily self-rising corn meal and wanted to know if it had been recalled, but she couldn’t tell me anything of value. She said she would have to know a lot of information off the bag. I told her I didn’t want to go buy it just to give her the information then have to return it because it was recalled. Another dummy not doing their job. I told her thanks for nothing.
